The Private Lives of Winston Churchill
Published in Paperback by Touchstone Books (October, 1992)
Author: John Pearson
Average review score:

Winston; Family, friends and his unique sence of self
This extensive read is a broad brush stroke for the reader who is looking for a landscape portrait about the man as if it were written by him personally. The book begins coverage tracing his pre-history origin shedding light on the beginnings of his psycological make up then on thru his living influences leaving the reader with a good understanding of Winston and his personality as Winston lived it. Suffering thee, as he puts it "The Black Dog" for most of his life it becomes clear to the reader that he did live his role in life beyond just satisfying his personal ego (unlike most politicians), though his ego was not anything small it did gain it's personal satisfactions and it's blows.

Much like his life the book is long and never boring.

Product Design for Manufacture & Assembly Revised & Expanded
Published in Hardcover by Marcel Dekker (15 September, 2001)
Authors: Peter Dewhurst, Winston Knight, and Geoffrey Boothroyd
Average review score:

good methodology on how to re-engineer a product
Boothroyd and Dewhurst are recognized as international experts on the re-engineering of electro-mechanical products. Their methodology and guidelines have been widely documented to make significant savings. I have used their techniques with dozens of products in many companies in North America with vast improvement. I have also taught these techniques to many, many engineers who have had the same success.

The book is a good, comprehensive overview of designing products to ease thier assembly and manufacture. Other texts are available but most are not written as clearly.

The Remarkable Return of Winston Potter Crisply
Published in Library Binding by William Morrow (May, 1978)

A Little Mystery in Manhattan
The Remarkable Return of Winston Potter Crisply is the best book I have ever read. I finished it in 3 days.

The point of this book, is that a boy, Winston Potter Crisply, has been sighted by his two younger siblings. He is supposed to be away at college, so they want to know why he's back and why he hasn't told his family. His brother and sister follow him all around Manhattan trying to be detectives. They go along Manhattan streets in weird costumes. They think all crazy things about why he is back. In the end you're in for a suprise. Eve Rice's light-hearted mystery is a fun book. It is really cute too. I couldn't put the book down. It is a must read for lovers of light-hearted mysteries.

Dear Ms.

I've lived in Morgantown, WV for 5 1/2 years and seeming irritated and bother by what i've found out to be, unknowledgeable, stupid, (possibly criminal) type born again christian lunatics, and i've gotten no where with my intented living situation. Even after help with Charolete Pritt's WV governor campaign, May 1996, there are two many of these crazy believing church people in West Virginia. I earlier talked to a girl at, Wiley Street dairy mart, going home to Minneapolis, for christmas vacation, as she's never heard of Billy Graham. And she say's the christian daily trashy influence is nothing as much as it is in Morgantown, WV.

Sing With the Wind

Author: Winston O. Abbott
Average review score:

awesome!
I picked this book up at a tag sale and i'm glad i did! It''s not too big but it's got it where it counts! Not exactly poetry, Abbott's prose is beautiful to read and soothing to the soul. I pull this book out whenever i'm feeling down, depressed, or overwhelmed, and it helps me calm down and re-connect with everything important in my life. In addition to the words, there are also beautiful, simple drawings disperesed throughout the text that also have a soothing effect. Overall simple, not too complex, perfect to read in those spare minutes when you need to take a break and relax. Highly recommended!

Society, Ethics and Technology: Preliminary Edition
Published in Paperback by Wadsworth Publishing (03 August, 1998)
Authors: Morton Emanuel Winston, Ralph Edelbach, Morton Winston, and Ralph Edelback
Average review score:

Crucial Ethical Issues of Today's Technology and Science
This is such a timely and needed publication. The book offers insightful chapters by authors who are scholars within this area of study. Other chapters offer insight into today's world of technology and science. Remaining chapters provide insightful perspectives by authors that incorporate the ethical issues involved in both technology and science. The authors and publisher, I believe, are TOTALLY on the right track with their belief that this is a very crucial publication for today's society. The first chapter by Morton Winston, "Children of Invention," tells the reader what is going on currently in our society within the area of ethics, technology, and science; where we were, where we are now, and why we need to look at this for our future. This publication is ground breaking. With our society's current stance of available access to technology and developments in science our ethical decision-making related to these disciplines ARE our future; the authors of this book have provided us with excellent topics and issues to "Begin the Discussion."

The Story of the Malakand Field Force
Published in Hardcover by Shoe String Press (January, 1990)
Author: Winston Churchill
Average review score:

A valid view
This is a book which I value tremendously. Rarely are books so well written as this; and whatever Churchill wrote in 1897 in this account still holds very much true, if not more so, for the context of this narrative. Were I to write an account on this subject today, it would hardly differ from Churchill's. His opinions are still very much valid, and those who value truthful methods of analysis are well aware of this. This book must not be spurned by experts. Given the nature of the current overall situation prevailing in this region and its effect on the rest of the world, this book becomes more important than ever as a reference primer.
